Bomb Pop Jello Shots bring a festive and patriotic flair to your party with layered red, white, and blue jello. These shots taste as good as they look, with the sweetness of grenadine, cream of coconut, and blue curaçao layered with a splash of rum. Perfect for Memorial Day or 4th of July, these fun and colorful shots are a guaranteed hit!

Ingredients

  • 3 Unflavoured Gelatin about 3 tablespoons
  • ¾ cup cold water
  • 1 ½ cups Hot Water
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • ¾ cup Silver Rum Bacardi recommended

Red Layer:

White Layer:

  • 2 tablespoons cream of coconut Coco Real recommended

Prepare the Gelatin Base:

  • In a medium mixing bowl, pour in the gelatin powder and add ¾ cup cold water. Stir to combine and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the gelatin absorbs the water.

Dissolve the Gelatin:

  • Whisk in 1 ½ cups of hot water until the gelatin fully dissolves. Add the granulated sugar and whisk until it melts into the mixture. Stir in the rum to combine.

Divide the Mixture:

  • Evenly divide the gelatin base into three separate bowls (a little over 1 cup per bowl).

Prepare the Red Layer:

  • To the first bowl, stir in 3 tablespoons grenadine.

Prepare the White Layer:

  • To the second bowl, stir in 2 tablespoons cream of coconut.

Prepare the Blue Layer:

  • To the third bowl, stir in 2 tablespoons blue curaçao.

Layer the Jello Shots:

  • In 2-ounce silicone molds, pour 1 ½ tablespoons of the red jello mixture into the bottom of each mold. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes until the jello has started to set and the surface is firm.

Add the White Layer:

  • Remove from the fridge and pour 1 ½ tablespoons of the white jello into each mold. Return to the fridge for 20 minutes to let it set.

Finish with the Blue Layer:

  • Remove again and pour 1 ½ tablespoons of the blue jello into each mold. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to fully set.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Cover the molds with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve. To release the jello, place the bottom of the mold in warm water for 10-20 seconds to loosen. Invert the molds and serve with the red layer on top.

Notes

If you’re using plastic ramekins for your jello shots, place them on a baking sheet for easy transport. To match the classic Bomb Pop look, start with the blue layer at the bottom, then add the white, and finish with red on top. These colorful shots are perfect for patriotic celebrations and summer gatherings!
